Geometric Studies [Sculptures]
Research in computational geometry

Geometry studies is an exploration/research ambition in form finding using computational means. The processes explored are tested using rapid prototyping techniques to evaluate the validity of these studies in how they can physically manifest themselves.

With the ambition to explore knot topologies this sculpture uses a physics simulator to run a minimal surface function on a disoriented single welded surface. The anchor points that allow for the tensioning of the surface create a cube. The porosity pattern on the surface reveals the variation in tension resulting in a variation of structure needs.
