Swarm Intelligence
Research in Boids done while at GSAPP, Columbia University

Swarm Intelligence is a study in multi agent systems to explore persistent agent population density mappings of flocking behaviors. The intent is to program interactions/relationships to local scale components to allow for emergent behaviors to arise out of a larger global system.

This study set up a context of stationary attractors with different multitudes which manipulated the trail patterns to connect between the attractors. The intended architectural implication was to allow a zoning map to evolve out of a densification of agent trails attempting to travel to the attractors with largest multitudes.

The initial study was to explore trail density and scale by allowing multiple classes to variate in trail distribution. Form comprehensiveness emerged from the populations searching for their trail history establishing persistent patterns. In this case the pattern is a consistent loop attempting to escape its own history
